I work with clients of all ages who have a variety of goals from weight loss to athletic performance. I’ve prepared clients for life events such as weddings, pregnancy, races and other athletic competitions. I’ve also helped clients make long-term life-style changes that dramatically improve their over-all health and wellness on a daily basis.

My professional career began in neuroscience research because I was fascinated by the biology behind the way people think and behave. I eventually realized I wanted to get out of the lab and work with people more directly. As a personal trainer I still get to coach my clients through their thought processes and behaviors as they pertain to their health and fitness goals.

My love of fitness led me to personal training and my own journey with weight loss has made me a unique and highly empathetic trainer. In my mid-20s, I began competing in pageants in the Miss America and Miss USA circuits, and the preparation for these competitions sparked a huge lifestyle shift for me. In my first year competing at age 23, I lost 70lb! I maintained that pageant body for 4 years through a very strict fitness and nutrition program.

After 4 years, I decided for myself that it just wasn’t worth it to restrict myself so heavily, so I phased out the rigid nutrition guidelines I had been following. I did, however, realize that I LOVED working out, so I continued on my fitness journey by adding in more performance based training, such as kick-boxing and Olympic weightlifting.

From my own journey of being overweight to looking like a model to being a fit, strong woman of average weight, I understand the sacrifices we make to achieve our goals. I train my clients with no judgements. I know that the road to these goals gets challenging because life sometimes gets in the way. My clients and I work together to set priorities that are always working toward their ultimate goal at a pace that works for their lives.
